My mother-in-law said it was "the second nicest place she has ever stayed in." For the price and availability due to large conventions in the nearby cities, Christian Gartenhotel is the best value in the Rhein-Mainz-Bingen area. All rooms have a wonderful rose garden view and the vineyards of the Rhein Valley can be seen in the distance. The staff was very friendly and the owners' English was very good. My inlaws were very impressed with the large breakfast selection and the beautiful pool. My wife and I really enjoyed the garden view and quiet surroundings. The village of Stadecken-Elsheim seemed to be a great town to visit with a nearby pub, Italian eatery, and "new wine" selections. If you want to be away from the city life but still have all the comforts of a 4-star hotel, Christian Gartenhotel has all the ammenities like a huge homemade breakfast daily, rose garden with pathways and seating areas, cable TV, a sauna and a pool. The hotel is situated in a small German village surrounded by vineyards and farms--a great place to get away but still be close enough to quickly drive to the city of Mainz via the Autobahn. We would definitely select Christian Gartenhotel again for any future overnight trips in this area of Germany in the future.

We could hear a dog barking in one of the other rooms but it only lasted for a minute and the rooms were apolstered to block out noise. It took a couple tries to communicate to use our military VAT 19% tax voucher, but it worked out in the end for us. Wish it was a bit closer to the Rhein and Bingen boat launch docks as a taxi was very expensive to/from the hotel--more than the Rhein Aflame boat ride event for our inlaws 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. Still, a great place to stay with the inlaws.... |
