| The small hotel Villaggio Costa Degli Dei with its 25 rooms and 25 suites is nestled in a Mediterranean garden in the region of Capo Vaticano one of the most beautiful coastal sections of the Tyrrhenian Sea. To the hotels bright gravel and sand beach of about 1.5 km away runs at regular intervals the hotels free shuttle bus. To the nearest town of San Nicolo di Ricadi it is not far. The old town of Tropea with numerous entertainment venues such as shops bars and restaurants is about 9 km away. Upon request and for a fee the hotel runs its own shuttle between Capo Vaticano and Tropea. Equipment The facility is in the style of a Calabrian village with free-standing converted country house built and has a reception restaurant bar and even at the local popular restaurant Il Vecchietto with typical regional dishes TV room with Sat.-TV. The cathedral in Messina a Norman foundation dating from the time of Roger II was begun in 1160 and consecrated in 1197. This 60m/197ft high bell-tower reconstructed using old designs contains one of the greatest of all astronomical clocks a work by the Strasbourg firm of Ungerer -1933-. every day at midday the figures are set in motion and show scenes from the history of Messina including the handing-over of the legendary letter of protection from the Madonna to Messina.
