| The island of Re itself is really worth a visit. A few charming ports linked by a network of pathways to be explored- of course- by bike- criss-crossing the sandy earth. Saint Martin- surrounded by the Vauban fortifications- is the best place to stop. Your base a 17th century shipbuilders residence with windows overlooking the port. The mast of a fishing boat may perhaps disturb your views of the setting sun. But would that really bother you.

very meticulous care was taken in the choice of materials –old tiling/woodwork etc- the fabrics and the antique furniture. Great attention was paid to the smallest detail. You will be welcomed in a cosy reception room that resembles a private study. The old flagstones in the lounge and
the original old stone fireplace are very warm and welcoming. Right in the heart of the hotel a small aromatic garden invites you to come and relax at any time of the day and enjoy the sweet fragrances of many different plants. Or in summer you may enjoy the terrace on the harbour. The Island is well-known for- and benefits from a mild microclimate with a fantastic sunlight all year long.
