| The Grand Hotel del Gianicolo is a new 4-star Hotel located in a historic XVIII th Century villa on the wonderful Gianicolo hill *considered the main stronghold of the heroic Roman republic defence against the French troops* just above the historic centre of Rome Trastevere . Its prominent location and quietness of the place offer a pleasant and relaxing stay for all its guests. Our 48 rooms are elegantly furnished and equipped with every modern comfort garage , mini-bar , private safes , air-conditioner , tvcolor /sat , direct line , internet wireless, bathroom either with shower box or hydro-massage bath and hairdryer. In addition,every morning at the Hotel we serve an abundant buffet either inside or in the garden so that guests can enjoy the crisp morning air . Every detail - our luxuriant gardens , the swimming pool , and the interiors-have been designed to offer the best in terms of hospitality and comfort. View from Panoramic Point, right on the top of Gianicolo hill, walking distance from hotel. The crest of the Gianicolo hill, shaded by splendid umbrella pines,lined by busts of Garibaldi's men and a monument of Garibaldi himself(Italy's independence hero), followed by that of his wife Anita. The midday cannon fired daily below the parapet.Further on find the old stump, here once stood the oak tree beneath which Tasso (Poet 1544-1595) used to sit.From here as well, you may glimpse spectacular views of Rome: Castel Sant'Angelo, the Dome of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, the Dome of San Carlo al Corso, Trinita dei Monti, the Quirinal Palace, the Pantheon, the Dome of Sant'Andrea della Valle with the lower dome of the Church of Jesus. |
