If I were to decide as to whether I would return to the hotel based on the staff, my answer is a definite yes. But if it were to be based on the room, then I might have to ponder.
First off, the various receps were exceedingly friendly, pleasant, smiley, and helpful! Even the room-cleaning ladies and the breakfast room staff were nice and polite. The setback for me was the room itself.
Breakfast was nice and adequate, and I especially liked that they had freshly cut fruits for a nice fruit cocktail (the kiwi was a pleasant surprise!).
The readily available cnn on the TV in my room was a definite plus. Good proximity from the train station and especially from the city center as well!

Was given a room on the back-facing corridor of 2nd floor which happened to be rather old and dingy, and there wasn't a decent view outta room window. I can appreciate that the hotel itself was old and full of history and character but my room was a tad too noisy - perhaps due to the ripe old age and condition of the establishment. Maybe it was the heating system or just the connecting pipes of the bathroom, I was met with noise almost throughout my 2-nite stay there. Walls were amazingly thin such that I often heard my next-door neighbor pluggin in his/her electrical gadget and/or whenever someone was making his/her way down the hallway. |

Centrally located within the city. Breakfast included in room price. Shops and parking garage in close proximity. Price included shampoo, sewing kit and other small amentities.

Hairs on pillow cases, carpet dirty, hallways dark, no deadbolt lock on door (had to block with chair). Bed too firm for me, but traveling partner loved it! |

Lacation is superb - 10 min walk from main railway station and just round the corner from Cathedral square and so close to all other main interesting sights. Breakfasts good.

Nothing I can think of... |

Although well-located and very clean, with good food and friendly staff, the hotel had little or no character inside - which was very disappointing for such an old building. The room furniture was cheap and inappropriate and our room very badly-lit. |

Excellent location for the Old Town. Good value for money.

Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms.
Noisy on Saturday night - Vent system running for night club
Decoration in room is basic but clean and recently refurbished. |

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel despite the external noise. However, whilst the breakfast food was excellent, the system was administrativly cumbersone and encouraged waste.

There was a lot of street noise, which the windows and curtains did not mask very well |

The price included a very nice breakfast. Tables were set with linen tablecloths. The room was quite large by European standards. Staff were very friendly and helpful with English skills varying from average to very good. The room was very clean. This is an excellent value. The location is excellent with less than a 10 minute walk to the train station and it is on the edge of the Old City.

Two relatively minor things:
The room included one chair. Another chair would have been very handy. The room could easily accommodate it.
A couple of times communication between the front desk and kitchen miss-fired: Although we had filled out our breakfast request the night before at the front desk, the kitchen had no information when we went to breakfast. The breakfast hostess and kitchen did a commendable job reacting to the surprise of not expecting us. |

I would certainly lodge here the next time I am in Regensburg.
