The Hotel Doppeladler is a friendly, family run 'village' hotel. Despite the language difficulties the staff were helpful and pleasant and were concerned to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and really good value - as attested by it's popularity with the locals. Really good base for exploring the region - particlulrly for cyclists.

Car parking is limited and the few spaces get filled by restaurant guests. Spaces in the village are also limited and a fair of parking 'juggling' is required. There was no air conditioning in the room and we needed to keep the window open - which made it a little noisy. It is helpful if you speak German well because this is a truly local hotel (one waitress told me that they have only 1 or 2 English Visitors per year) - but this kind of added to the charm for me! |

We thought to have picked a hotel in Rees, but it was located in nearby Haldern. Your map has a small note (Haldern) to that effect. You could improve your map or make it more clear in which town the hotel is actually located.
We were unfortunate that there was a city fair going on and there was loud music, which lasted until the early morning hours. |
