Only a 10 minute drive away from the hotel, Thanet Flying Club (run by TG Aviation Ltd) at Manston airport, offers an hours flying with a pilot in a 4 seater Piper Warrior for only PS130.00. So you can take 2 guests! At just under PS44 each you can find yourself doing what the Club call Circuit 13: Fly up to Whistable, turn left and head over to Canterbury (amazing views of the Cathedral!), fly past Ashford, head over to Folkestone, and then what was the highlight of my trip, following the coast at 500ft alongside the White Cliffs...quite breathtaking! Pass Deal, Ramsgate and then at Broadstairs turn inland to land again at Manston. And the hour can count towards your Private Pilot's Licence should you get the flying bug!
