The Hotel Ermitage is located close to the city centre of Paris, in the characteristic district Ménilmontant which offers a variety of art studios, galleries, theatres and restaurants. The beautiful park Butte de Chaumont is 800 m away and the world-famous cemetery Pére-Lachaise is also nearby.

We provide 24 comfortable and bright rooms that are all appointed with shower, hair-dryer, safe, telephone and internet access. Some of the rooms boast a marvellous view of the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Sacré Coeur.

The hotel is a great venue for those who want to get off the beaten track and who want to enjoy the authentic atmosphere of Paris. At the same time our guests benefit from a location that provides easy access to the whole of Paris.

We chose this hotel as the price was good but most important it was described as being approximately 2 kms from Charles de Gaulle airport and this was very important to us as we had a very early flight. It was, in fact, 35 kms from CdG airport and it cost us 42.80 Euros in taxi fare. The hotel was in a side street and not very inviting to look at,the route was said to be very busy in the morning and we also had to pass through a street market, which was on most days, we were told! We refused to stay at the hotel because of the distance and we told by the proprietor that we had to pay, we refused as we said we had been misled, we eventually paid approximately half of the room cost,24 euros, as this was all the change we had on us. It was distressing for us as we then had to find another hotel for the night as near to the airport as possible, we also had to pay for another taxi fare. It was more awkward for us as, although we live in SW France, we only speak a little French. I saw the room before we left and it was not very desirable. Regards, George Witham
