When you arrive in Olbia, go straight for one kilometer following direction to Porto and then to Golfo Aranci, passing through the industrial area. At the roundabout, follow direction to Golfo Aranci and take the street SP 82. The Best Western Alessandro Hotel is on the left. ·From: The South. Take SS131, at the first exit to Olbia, then follow direction to E840/SS199. Take the SS199 following direction to Golfo Aranci/Costa Smeralda. When you exit the underpass, turn right, take the roundabout and turn left following directions to Golfo Aranci passing through the industrial area. At the roundabout, follow direction to Golfo Aranci and take the street SP 82. The Best Western Alessandro Hotel is on the left. ·From: The East,SP82. Go straight following direction to Pittulongu. Lovely pool area with beautiful view of port
Clean, nice and spacious room with airconditioning and minibar
Hourly bus service that operates during the day to take you to beaches (€1.30 flat fare)
Breakfast was not offensive but dull and uninspiring, no variety.
Generally the staff morale seemed low and with the exception of one gentleman behind reception the staff didn't really put themselves out.
Judging by the numbers of people at breakfast the hotel seemed reasonably full but you rarely saw anyone during the day/eve. As a result the hotel lacks soul. Something that creates an interaction between guests would help, e.g. pool table, table-tennis etc.
Wanted to hire some bikes as hotel is out of town but 1 had a puncture which wasn't repaired in the time of our stay.
If you don't have a car the only way into city centre and choice of restaurants in the evening is by taxi (€25 each way). Last bus is 7.30pm
Didn't visit restaurant by evening at it didn't appear anyone else did either, lacked atmosphere.
