Had a great stay at Herald Square Hotel over thanksgiving 2008. The room was basic but hey you're in New York how much time do you need to spend in the room. There was a massive TV which I must admit we didnt even turn on. The room was really clean, couldn't have asked for a better location, the staff were friendly, and free hot drinks in the lobby. I would definately stay here again, it was the cheapest hotel we could find for the location and it was great.

The only negative I would say, and this is only a tiny thing, is that the rooms werent very sound proof. We could hear the film the people in the next room were watching at night and the traffic outside was very noisy, and the radiator also made some funny loud noises, but it was nothing that would keep us awake.

extremely quiet, very friendly and helpful staff, interesting building in terms of history, extremely clean Decor is dated, room was very small.
