I arrived at 17.55 and was kept waiting for 10 minutes to check in. The member of staff informed me that my room was only to be held until 18.00. The time was 18.05, the room had not in fact been allocated to anyone else so there was absolutely no need to make this an issue at all. I was left with the feeling that someone had annoyed the member of staff in question and she felt the need to take it out on someone. This I do undertsnad but after a six hour journey I really could have done without this sort of treatment. A colleague of mine who was booking at the same time was also treated in the smae way and booked into a smoking room in spite of us all having booked the rooms six weeks in advance and having reuesetd non smoking rooms. A bunch of flowers was forthcoming when she complained but as the staff member who dealt with the compliant was the same one who had tried to make life difficult on our arrival we were left wondering whether there really were some non smoking rooms avialble and she just couldn't be bothered to do anything about it.
Unfortunately there are only two hotels with which my firm has contracts in MG given the choice I would not stay there again.
