If you have a car, this is a great place to stay at. You can explore most of Andalucia easily (including Seville, Granada, Córdoba, Costa del Sol, Gibraltar, and even the Algarve coast of Portugal), while also enjoying the great facilities at the hotel.
The town of Mijas just up the road has a charm about it, and some good places to eat.
The grounds have a very pleasant atmosphere. The room (including bathroom) was very comfortable, and the air-conditioning was much appreciated.
Previous reviews I had read before going had panned the food at the hotel, but I found the breakfast offered to be surprisingly good (I ate other meals elsewhere).
Over all, I was quite impressed with this place, and would definitely stay there again.
The hotel description says the hotel is 10km from Málaga airport, but it is actually 40km. This is no problem if you have your own car, but if you are catching a taxi, you may end up paying a lot more than you expected.
There is occasionally party noise late at night, but it's not too bad.
