Business hours of reception: from 07:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Hotel Il Sole is located in the heart of a medieval landscape, just a few steps from the antique Piazza Garibaldi, the historical centrepiece of Massa Maritima, but also near the cathedral and the Town Hall. Our hotel is in a medieval palace, which has been carefully restored. This central position is ideal for a visit to the city and is close to the best restaurants and taverns. The hotel has 50 bedrooms able to accommodate 95 people. They are all equipped with TV, telephone, fully-equipped bathroom and stereo sound. All rooms are air-conditioned. The hotel offers a conference room, a bar and a breakfast and buffet room. There is also a large indoor garage. Our banquet halls are ideal for business dinners and cocktails. Massa Marittima is a splendid town in the heart of the Metalliferous hills the origin of which are far. Stone Age and Etruscan sites are located around the town. |
The hotel had a central position in a lovely hill top village
This hotel was the worst one we stayed in during our stay in Italy. The staff were unhelpful and the room small with numerous dirty marks along the joins in the wallpaper.The hotel generally looked in need of some care and attention. Although we had specified the need for car parking when we arrived all we were given was a token to park in the street in that area of town, almost an impossible task! When we eventually returned to the hotel we checked the hotel garage it had had one car in it with many of the spaces left empty! We would not have minded but this had been put in writing when booking.
While we received a warm welcome at other hotels there was none here. I believe sole - less (sip)would be a better desciption of this hotel.
