| Named for its rich history, La Locanda delle Donne Monache was originally built as a convent in 1735 to welcome the religious order of the Visitandine nuns of San Francesco di Sales. Located in the heart of the historical centre of Maratea, close to the Mother Church, the convent developed absorbing over the years some private buildings provided by local benefactors.
The rooms and communal spaces, once dedicated to meditation and prayer, now welcome guests with complete modern amenities. A mix of minimalist decor with unusual furniture is the result of a thorough recent restoration and renovation. |
