Arrival outside the business hours of reception is possible after an arrangement via telephone. Basic Hotel Sophienhof is located in the centre of Kiel downtown. Only a few steps away there are the Ostseehalle event hall, the central station, the Sophienhof shopping centre and the pedestrian precinct (Holstenstr.). The hotel lends itself as starting point not only to explore the modern provincial capital of Schleswig-Holstein, but also to visit the maritime and rural surrounding countryside. Nearly all regular buses stop in direct proximity. Despite this central situation the hotel is located in a quiet side street. The port is situated in direct vicinity. The hotel offers 22 individually furnished double and single rooms as well as 1 triple room, all equipped with TV and kettle. There are a reception with a bar, an internet terminal and a breakfast room inside our house. Parking facilities are available for a fee. |
The staff was very friendly and did very well speak English with us. We consider this our problem since our German is very poor and we were in Germany. The breakfast was very impressive. You may consider adding a picture of it to your web site. We also appreciated the free wire-fi.
We would have appreciated expanded cable including BBC and an outlet for hair dryer in the bathroom.
