Our hotel provides a free-of-charge wake-up call service. All windows are soundproofed in order to enjoy your stay. Family rooms with a maximum of 4 beds are available as well. Breakfast is served between 07:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and later, if desired by late risers. A rich breakfast buffet in a cosy atmosphere ensures you an awesome start to the day. Marmelades, honey, various sausage and ham specialities, delicious cheese, scrambled eggs with bacon, coffee or tea, fruit juices and several sorts of bread are available for you every morning. Basic Hotel Sophienhof is located in the centre of Kiel downtown. Only a few steps away there are the Ostseehalle event hall, the central station, the Sophienhof shopping centre and the pedestrian precinct (Holstenstr.). The hotel lends itself as starting point not only to explore the modern provincial capital of Schleswig-Holstein, but also to visit the maritime and rural surrounding countryside. Nearly all regular buses stop in direct proximity. Despite this central situation the hotel is located in a quiet side street. The port is situated in direct vicinity. The ferry and cruise terminals are in only a few minutes walking distance. We are happy to offer our favourable Cruise, Park & Sleep package to you. The hotel offers 22 individually furnished double and single rooms as well as 1 triple room, all equipped with TV and kettle. We provide 103 rooms appointed with all amenities you might expect such as telephone, radio and a choice of Premiere channels (including the sports channels of the German Football League). On request, we can offer WLAN or DSL internet access. Please ask at the reception about the fee. Our rooms adapted to the needs of disabled guests offer a lot of free moving space and comfort. During their stay at the hotel, guests may use the buses in Kiel and go to the Home of Balance wellness oasis, all free of charge. Please note that we will renovate our breakfast room from the November 28th, 2009 till February 2010 and in that period, it is possible to have breakfast in the nearby restaurant Madeira.
