In 1990 the Osburg family took over the Hotel Scharzer Bär. It has been completely renovated and refurbished. Our hotel is steeped in tradition and yet meets the requirements of today and the modernity. We offer 66 tastefully appointed single and double rooms with a total of 90 beds (30 additional beds can be provided), equipped with shower, toilet, TV, direct dial telephone and mini bar. Your day begins with an ample breakfast buffet served from 06:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the nice dining room. Our carefully selected plain fare from Thuringia and the international dishes will satisfy even the most discerning guests. In our hotel you will be treated to hearty specialties, prepared with excellent products from the country. The price is lower than one would expect for such an elegant hotel. The restaurant is first class, and so is the staff.
