Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good.

Room was extreamly noisy!
There was an issue with the rate that I found out about when I checked out, not when I checked in! |

The owners of the hotel were extremely friendly. I almost felt like I was staying with people I knew.

The hotel owners were so kind and helpful that made us really feel at home. The hotel is in the beautiful Old City of Heidelberg, but the room we stayed was modern, comfortable and well maintained.

No carparking available at the hotel. Only paid public parking (rebated).
Wireless internet connection not working from the room. Wired alternative had a very bad connection.
Reflected this in the rating of "Room quality" and "Recommendation". |

Staff very friendly, family-run operation; breakfast included, and the only place on my recent trip where they would prepare eggs, etc.; good location at foot of castle, near river, university, and all historic sites

room was very small, about the size of a walk-in closet, and spartan; a good half-hour walk to the main train station |

Although we booked the Hotel Goldener Falke upon arrival at 9pm in the evening we were told there were no rooms except for one and I was moved to the Zum Sepel down the street. We were greeted well at the Zum Sepel but this was not the hotel we booked. We did not have an elevator at the Zum Sepel and this did cause an inconvience on both the proprietor and myself. Had I not been to Heidelberg prior I would have felt very unsafe walking the streets trying to find the hotel I was sent to. We were just given verbal directions to our new location and not being familiar we did get lost. |
