This time I had a lousy room at the Atlantic. I stayed in better and cleaner ones before. The entire complex needs to be renovated. I'll stay at the Vier Jahreszeiten in the future.

It's definitely NOT a 5*hotel (and also can not be a member of LHW). The rooms are very old (correspond to 3*hotel as Mercure), the furniture is old-fashionnable...really horrible! Only the public areas in this hotel are fantastic (expect the very old carpet in the floor).
We were many friends at the hotel at the sae time and I could visit the other rooms (only few of them were really renovated, most of the room are old, dusty and with a unconfortable bed!!!). It's a shame for a 5*hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hotel with great character, exceptionally good staff.

Requires some renovation, some outlets not working, poor audio/visual equipment (TV), wear and tare evident on some of the furniture in the room. |

good location
everybody very friendly

I was not really disturbed on this occasion, but noticed once that the acoustic isolation between rooms is not very good.
A desire I have allways in Germany - without much hope - to have sheets on my bed, rather a heavy unmanageable "couette". |

Staff are very welcoming and carry out their duties very well. Considerate of guests. Good location for city and activities.

The hotel is almost a hundred years old and I feel is trading on its past glories. Refurbishment is needed. Worn carpets on main stair case. Beakfast is not as good as in other four/five star hotels I have experienced. Declind an offer of upgrade. Price too high for less than so called 'grand hotel' Needs up grading without destroying classic atmosphere. Bedroom rather dowdy and unattractive. Clean.
Staff were really the only acceptable claim to be a 'grand hotel' |

The breakfast was very good

No air conditioning in room. A fan was supplied when requested which proved noisy. For a five star hotel i would expect air conditioning. The room was very hot until a fan was supplied |

Very welcoming service.

Parts of the front of the hotel are actually under renovation with a scaffold in front of some room-windows so that you cannot enjoy the fantastic view onto the binnenalster. |

A true 'Grand' Hotel! Excellent service from competent and friendly staff. Wonderful personal recommendations from the outstanding concierge. Relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

Behind the times regarding technology: room keys were heavy old real keys, computer in the business centre very slow and still had disk slots (printing took 3 minutes PER PAGE), yet extremely high wifi charges (29 EUR per day!) - not necessarily a good business hotel: good for meetings, not so good for working |

Staff commitment and charming grand hotel atmosphere. Excellent bar facilities.

The room quality was according to a 3-4 star hotel maximum, with styling like in the late 6oies. There is a clear need for immediate refurbishment. The price-performance ratio is hardly acceptable. |

| Das Zimmer 541 hat den baulichen Zustand von ~ 1960 und würde eher 'Besenkammer' genannt werden |

| The hotel is still worth a visit, but it´s glory is fading. The hotel needs a revamp to maintain it`s proclaimed status as ome of Hamurg`s top hotels. |
