I brought my wife and two other couples with me. It was a first venture into the part of Germany that was in the former East Zone, so we were unsure of what would await us. We were extremely impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the size of our personal rooms and the bountiful breakfast which was offered to guests. It was a very pleasant first experience for all of us. Because my wife is a consecrated Lutheran Deaconess (Diakonistin), we especially came to Erfurt to view the beginnings of Martin Luther's religious journey that changed the entire Christian world! We would have like to have stayed a little closer to the center of the old city but the streetcar ride was very convenient and we grew used to traveling to and from the hotel. The special ride ticket offered us at the hotel was a great value!

Very good food in restaurant, most of the staff very friendly and competent. Good public transport/motorway links, near enough to town centre to go out easily in the evenings. You can see in the rooms that the hotel used to be a communist block of flats, the lift only goes to 3 of the 10+ floors and a minority of the staff are condescending and rude.
