The Palais was built in 1795 for the establishment of the first German beach resort as the Logierhaus (Lodge) of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz of Mecklenburg. Consequently, Hotel Friedrich-Franz-Palais belongs to one of the most traditional hotels on the entire Baltic coast. In recent years the Palais has been refurbished completely and today offers 52 comfortably furnished guest rooms and suites. The restaurant, multifunctional conference rooms, a sauna, a gym and a relaxation room, as well as the lounges, are great places to relax and enjoy. Modern communication technology such as internet PCs and Wi-Fi are offered to our guests free of charge. The 52 comfortable guest rooms are tailored to meet your individual needs. Hotel Villa Sommer is set on the very edge of a beautiful and exclusive residential area, on Friedrich Franz road (named after a famous Mecklenburg Duke). An almost unique feature of the hotel is the proximity to Molli, a nostalgic train whose arrival at the station can be spotted from the hotel´s terrace. The centre of Bad Doberan with its restaurants, pubs and the market is within 15 minutes walking distance. Shopping facilities can be found in the surrounding area. Being close to the station, the hotel allows easy and convenient access to the neighbouring towns such as Rostock and Kühlungsborn within a short time. The area around the hotel has convenient traffic and a lot of greenery. Parking for guests is also available. The hotel suites have a separate living room and bedroom area and offer floor heating and parquet floor. The living room area is also provided with a small kitchen. The room and the bathroom are very bright and spacious. Moreover, the suites have a roof terrace with a pretty view of Molli, the forest and the city. Five of 10 rooms have a balcony, ideal for a leisurely breakfast, weather permitting. Other 5 rooms have special features like extreme spaciousness or a beautiful bay window.
