Sandsend: As the name implies, Sandsend is where the sandy beach which begins at Whitby comes to an abrupt end. Only a Mile and a half from Dunsley Hall, Sandsend is just right for a bracing walk or swim before breakfast or dinner. |

Staithes: Before the growth of Whitby, Staithes was a principle center for cod, haddock and mackerel with over 400 boats sailing from there. The only road into the village is amazingly steep and houses cling to the hillside at all levels. |
