The Le Grand Hotel de l’Abbey was built on the banks of the River Loire in the 12th century. Since then it acquired various architectural jewels through the centuries, notably on its façade and staircase.
This hotel offers 18 tastefully decorated guestrooms, which have been formerly the chambers of monks and are still adorned with the period furniture. All the guestrooms are equipped with all the modern amenities like safe, mini-bar, satellite and cable TV and internet access. Furthermore non-smoking rooms and an attentive room service are available for the guest’s convenience.
Guests can enjoy delicious cuisine and wine from the region, in front of the fireplace in winter and on the veranda in summer, looking onto the legendary Beaugency Bridge.
During leisure, guests can hire bikes and discover the marvellous region or play some tennis, on a court, which is 300 m away. The beautiful city of Beaugency invites visitors, to see some medieval places of interest. |
Impossible de dormir dans un hotel qui est a une intersection entre des routes principales de la ville. L'hotel est beau de l'exterieur et a un caractere charmant mais la receptioniste est impolie refusant de donner son nom et l'acces aux chambres apres 3 etages d'escaliers avec des bagages a porter n'est pas possible pour personnes qui ne sont pas en super bonne sante. Jamais n'irons nous a cet hotel. nous avons annule 2 des 3 nuitees et avons par contre beaucoup aime nos deux nuits a L'Ecu de Bretagne hotel 3 etoiles calme excellente emplacement et tres bon restaurant et pt dejeuner a Beaugency.
atmosphere is terrific. Beautiful old abbey, near bridge over the Loire. Beautiful village!
