 Room was very nice this time. Positioned at back of the hotel, no noise.
 Air conditioning doesn't work. First time I stayed my room was extremly small, front of the hotel, very noisy, no air conditioning. |

If you get a room on the side of the tram lines, then you are in trouble, but there are rooms at the backside ("la residence" - behind the gardens) and these are quite and nice.
Unlimited internet access for 15CHF per day, but this is only if you use the LAN and not the Wireless LAN. WiFi is run by Swisscom and will cost you close to 30CHF per day.
Breakfast was good. Garage included in the price.
You will also find good restaurants on this street.
The driveway to the Garage is not obvious. The hotel itself is located on a street where the tramway runs and you are not supposed to drive on this road. |

Room Clean
Room a bit small and very warm at night also due to the location overlooking the street it was quite noisy from tram. One other negative is the smoking at the bar. |

Central location with excellent access to public transport.
Friendlyness of the staff various a lot. Hotel is too expensive for what is really offered. Extremly small rooms. |

Hotel located very close to the city center and hence Basel's excellent public transport system
No sports facilities (for 4 stars rather strange I find); poor soundproofing, streetcar runs directly by the hotel (starting at 5am), quite audibly |

| My judgment that the hotel is worse than it appears to be, according to its description, comes from the description on the hotel mercure website. There, it says that bathrooms have a bathtub. However, I only found a shower (and the bathroom was incredibly small). |
