Great location, despite the description being a bit confusing re: the annex. The lack of parking seemed to be a bigger negative than it turned out to be. Weekend parking cost only € 1, and per weekday is € 6 in a city garage. We left our things and parked, and the walk back was about 10 minutes. The Hotel could provide ready made, very bold directions instead of pulling out a map and charting the way, and they could also post price ranges to prospective visitors who might be expecting the inconvenience to add 20, 30 € to a day's tab.
Staff were very friendly and there was even a pair of bustling waitresses in the morning who served coffee and cleared tables.
Other raters had panned the breakfast but we found it pretty good. The cold meats were a bit "wursty" (fatty) for us but there was some nice fresh fruit, perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs, and yogurt and cereals, along with a selection of whole grain bread and crusty rolls. Nothing extravagant, but ample and enough selection, and certainly well beyond the cold ham and dry Semmel stuff.

At times, the front desk was vacant and there was no bell or sign to indicate when, where to find help.
Suggest making a decent portion of the FRONT room of the cafe non-smoking. It is fantastic to offer non-smoking but for now that means the healthy lungs are banished to the back and windowless room.
We stayed in a triple (could sleep more) that included a ladder climb into the room. It was fine for us, but what if we had been unable to make this climb?
The sign from the street could be made more visible. It was a bit hard to spot if you had not viewed the photo on internet. I also suggest better directions the reference to MSN or Google map finder.
We also could not get good directions to drive out of town from the person at the desk when we checked out. Why not have these printed and on hand, and train staff where to find? |
