The Palais was built in 1795 for the establishment of the first German beach resort as the Logierhaus (Lodge) of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz of Mecklenburg. Consequently, Hotel Friedrich-Franz-Palais belongs to one of the most traditional hotels on the entire Baltic coast. In recent years the Palais has been refurbished completely and today offers 52 comfortably furnished guest rooms and suites.
