| Opened in 2004, Aparthotel do Mirante(Mirante Aparthotel)is a four star unit with 29 apartments, set in a private condominium with an area of 40.000m2 located in the attractive Caloura area, one of the best bathing zones on Sao Miguel island. The Mirante Aparthotel was the first hotel in Portugal to be certified with regard to Quality, the Environment and Safety, and to receive the EMAS seal. The Aparthotels swimming pools look out over the beautiful Azores sea and are, by themselves, a great reason to visit us. However, we also have a tennis court, lounges, games and reading rooms and a panoramic bar. Guests have a convenience store at their disposal where they can find everything they need to make meals quickly and simply in the comfort of their apartments. The apartments, as you will see further on, are perfect for family holidays, prolonged stays or just for a quiet weekend. They are very well equipped, and are decorated in a simple but up-to-date way. Dining: Our coffee-shop Vigia da Baleia is the ideal place for a summer snack at the end of the afternoon, a regional pizza before going out for a night in the city or just for a cocktail before dinner. In winter, you must try out our tea service! Recreation: The main swimming pool, 14 x 12 m in size, is great for people who like swimming. Filled with sea water and with the Azores sea as a backdrop, this is a great pool for a morning swim or a refreshing few lengths at the end of the afternoon. The childrens pool, 14 x 8 m in size and between 40 and 60 cm deep, is ideal for family fun and games. In the summer months guests can also make use of a small support bar on those days that are so enjoyable that no-one want to leave the pool area. Water temperatures average 18oC in winter and 25oC in summer (both in the morning and at the end of the afternoon |
