The Hotel Palau Lo Mirador in the heart of the beautiful Costa Brava, is a historical building first mentioned in 1385, although its origins reach back to the beginnings of Torroella’s history in the 9th century AD. This magnificent building, intrinsically entwined with the town’s past has been witness to some of the most important happenings that form a part of the history of Catalonia.
It is called Palau Lo Mirador (literally “viewing point”) because from the tower at the top of the building, the highest point in the town, the lords of the Palau could observe and control the plains of the Emporda.
Born out of a dream, the Palau, or Palace, of Lo Mirador today represents a new challenge, taken on with a philosophy of life that is both renewed and open to other people, a modern outlook which both conserves the legacy of the past and improves the architectural surroundings in which it is immersed.
The 9 rooms, all different and each with its own distinct character linked to the building’s history, are exclusively designed to offer the utmost elegance and comfort.
In our restaurant, we try to combine high-quality food and excellent customer service. That is why we are committed to creative cuisine made with quality products from the region. Our gastronomy is based on a selected, creative Mediterranean cuisine elaborated with fresh products from the region: fresh fish from the town of Roses, vegetables from the plain of the Empordà, beef from Girona and ice-creams prepared by traditional confectioners in Torroella.
