Kiel is the capital of the northernmost German state Schleswig-Holstein. It is located on the eastern side of the base of the Jutland peninsula in the southeast corner of the Baltic Sea.
Kiel can easily be reached by train (e.g. IC trains) or by car, with every larger hotel offering an own parking space for their guests. Many hotels recommend you to leave your car at the hotel and explore the city by bus.
Generally you will easily find an appropriate place to stay in Kiel, but while the local event Kieler Woche is taking place, we recommend you to book your hotel well in advance.
The city’s most beautiful sight is the Baltic Sea with its natural beaches and the lively harbour with the old worker district Gaarden. We recommend you to take a trip on a steamer to the picturesque seaside resort Laboe.
Kiel has an interesting cinema program to offer: cinema shows are held not only in the traditional cinemas, but also in numerous event centres. You will find a current cinema program on display in your hotel.
