The Veste Coburg is one of Germany’s largest and best-preserved castles, being very impressing from even far. It brought shelter for the reformer Martin Luther, when he was outlawed in the 16th century. Nowadays it contains a collection of weapons, porcelain and glass. The courtyard garden provides for a nice place to relax from the city. It ranges from the residence castle Ehrenburg up to the Veste Coburg. We also recommend you to visit the Museum of National History within the courtyard garden.
Another beautiful sight is the marketplace, which is surrounded by the city hall built in the area of renaissance, the townhouse and the armoury. You may also find the Pump Museum interesting, which consists of more than 900 exhibits. You will reach all these sights easily from your Coburg hotel.
