In the center of Soragna there is the Locanda del Lupo, an irresistable invitation to stop, to delve into the music so rich in history and beauty. This is what Karen Brown has wrote about us. The Locanda del Lupo, built in the 18th Century by the noble Meli Lupi family, is easy to find- just a block off the plaza. The Inn is best known as a gourmet restaurant and there are a series of beautiful dining rooms with gleaming copper hanging from white washed walls, terra cotta floors, dark beamed ceilings, antique clocks and 17th century oil paintings... Each guest room is individually decorated and exudes a refined, country house ambience. Authentic antique furnishings including fine wooden chests and wrought iron bedseats exude a feeling of quality. The soft and relaxing attraction of the Padana plain comes to rest in Soragna, a town able to tell of ancient stories and guide the visitor along an unusual and suggestive itineraries. These are the places frequented by Giuseppe Verdi, places in which music is in the air and things, in the wide expanses of luxuriant plain, the walls of the Cistercian monasteries, the Romanic and Gothic churches, the noble castles and farms. A music which loves life, the pleasures of the land and its secrets. |
