The world’s biggest office furnisher to book hotels via the new hotel.de corporate ccess.
Nürnberg, December-1-2003 – Since April 2003 hotel.de has successfully been offering its corporate clients special hotel key-account rates within its best-buy-functionality. Now the free-of-charge online hotel reservation service succeeded to convince another renown customer: With immediate effect the Steelcase Group (headquartered in USA, with annual sales of more than 3.2 billion US$ the world’s largest office furnisher) starts to book its hotel lodgings via hotel.de. Its German daughter company Steelcase Werndl AG is to kick off this co-operation.
Since 1999, Werndl has been part of the Steelcase-family (Werndl's name changed to Steelcase-Werndl Corp. at the end of 2001). Now local and international power, all the resources of the worldwide Steelcase organization and a huge know how are all working together to create revolutions@work. Two large brands now stand jointly for this philosophy and offer effective solutions for the 21st century workplace.
Besides Steelcase Werndl another 300 large enterprises and institutions make use of the new and free-of-charge corporate accounts service of hotel.de. Next to booking public promotional rates, via a special gateway the corporate client can access so-called corporate net rates which have individually been agreed upon between the corporation and the hotel as well as book general corporate promotional rates negotiated by hotel.de (so-called consortia rates). Thus the hotel.de customer can always choose the lowest rate available. Delivery either works by integrating hotel.de into corporate intranets or by providing a password-protected internet access to the hotel.de key account area, e.g. by the address www.hotel.de/steelcase-werndl.
