hotel.de opens office in Spain and thus further promotes its internationalization
Nuremberg, 22 November 2007 - hotel.de - the free online hotel reservation service with 210.000 hotels worldwide - today announced the opening of its office in Spain/Barcelona.
After the brand “hotel.de” has successfully been implemented in Germany, the company now focuses more and more on its expansion into Europe. Therefore, the international brand “TravelRes” was created and all relevant country domains were ensured in 2006. It was the same year in September when under the domain “TravelRes” a programme for corporate customers was started in Great Britain and a subsidiary was opened in London. Since January 2007, another subsidiary in Paris has been about to support acquisitions of new customers and hotels under travelres.fr in France.
To now enlarge the international presence of hotel.de also in Southern Europe, another office was established in Barcelona in November. First customers are subsidiaries, affiliated and mother companies of existing German business clients located in Spain. But also Spanish enterprises, which currently at a greater extent are looking for online and direct booking systems, are to be acquired by TravelRes Ibérica. Having established the hotel.de brand TravelRes in England and France as a leading hotel reservation service for business clients, hotel.de now aims at doing so in Spain under www.travelres.es.
In Spain, the number of bookings is developing favourably as well: In 2007, more than 100.000 room nights amounting to almost 10 million Euros have been generated by TravelRes up to now.
